The Lord is Sending You Friends Who Will Carry You

There are seasons in life when you are strong enough to carry yourself. And then there are seasons when you aren't. There are seasons when you can pray for yourself, encourage yourself, keep moving forward, and believe God for what is ahead. But then there are seasons when the weight becomes so heavy that you can barely get out of bed. You don't know how you're going to make it through another day. You don't have the strength to carry yourself. And sometimes, the hardest part isn't even the circumstance you're facing. It's looking around and realizing that people you thought would be there have left. People you thought would pray didn't pray. People you thought would pray you through began to gossip about you. People you thought would help weren't there when you needed them most. And suddenly, you're facing life in a way you never imagined facing without the people you thought would be beside you.

I want to give you a dose of hope today. You may have lost some people, but the Lord is sending you friends who will carry you when you need it. Look at the man in Mark 2. He couldn't walk himself to Jesus. But he had friends who saw his need and said, "We're going to get you to Jesus." They didn't stop when they reached the crowd. They didn't say, "Well, we tried." They didn't turn around when the door was blocked. They climbed onto the roof. They tore through the roof and they lowered their friend directly into the presence of Jesus.

That's what real friends do. They don't just celebrate with you when everything is going well. They carry you when you can't carry yourself. They don't disappear when your life becomes inconvenient. They stay. They don't tell you to give up when you're weary. They pray. They don't abandon you because your healing is taking longer than expected. They keep believing with you. They don’t make life harder for you. They make it easier.  And they don't need to understand everything you're going through to stand beside you. They simply know that you have a need and that need is important to them. They don’t ignore the need. They figure out how to get it done.

You may be looking at your life and thinking, "Where is everybody?" "Who is going to stand with me?" "Who is going to pray for me?" “Who is going to help me?” And, “Will anyone stay?”

I want to encourage you: There are people who will come into your life who won't be afraid of your difficult season. There are people who will see your weakness and not use it against you. There are people who will hear your story and not run from it. There are people who will pray when you don't have words to pray.

There are people who will remind you of God's love as they love you as He does. These ones will remind you of God’s promises when you are struggling to remember them yourself. And these ones will stay. They will celebrate you, celebrate with you, honor you in every season. They won’t talk about you. They will talk to you saying, "Let's pray." "Let's believe." "Let's keep going." "Don't give up." “Let’s keep fighting the good fight of faith.” "Let's get you to Jesus."  These people will be the tribe you have been missing and needing.

So, if you have been praying, "Lord, where is everybody?” Keep your heart open because God is bringing friendships that will look very different from the relationships you've lost. God knows how to send the right people at the right time, and I believe it is your timing and this word is preparing your heart to receive those the Lord sends to you.

Friends who will carry you when you're weak.

Friends who will pray when you're weary.

Friends who will believe when you're struggling to believe.

Friends who will stay when others leave.

Friends who will love you unconditionally.

Friends who will keep bringing you to Jesus until you encounter Him in your situation.

Perhaps one day you'll look back and realize: "I thought God had abandoned me because some people left. But He was making room for the people He was sending."

And remember this my friend: Even when everyone else leaves, Jesus stays. He is the Friend who will never leave you or forsake you. And when you don't have the strength to get to Him, He knows exactly where you are. Perhaps you finding this message of hope is Him showing you, He sees you and friends who will carry you, are on their way.
