CAST AGAIN

Recently, I heard the speak over many,  “Cast again,” I began to see people standing on a dock with fishing poles in their hands, casting their lines out into the water. As I watched this picture unfold, I was immediately reminded of Peter and I began to sense that there are people who have been standing at the edge of their own dock weary. You have cast before. You have prayed before. You have believed before. You have hoped before. You have tried again and again, only to reel your line back in empty. No sign. No wonder. No miracle. And after enough disappointment, you began to wonder, “Why should I try again?”  The Lord is saying to you: Cast Again.

Think about Peter. He had fished all night and caught nothing. He was tired. He was disappointed. He had every reason to believe that another cast would produce the same result. But Jesus told him to let down his nets again. And when Peter obeyed, the result was a catch so great that the nets began to break.

What if the next time you cast is not like the last time?

What if this time, you're not casting from the same place you were before?

What if this time, you're casting with a deeper trust in the One who told you to cast again?

I believe there are people who have been ready to put their fishing pole down and walk away. Some of you have put the pole down and you went into a deep hole but the Lord sent you here to hear this message. Don't give up. Cast again. Pray again. Believe again. Hope again. Love again. Dream again. Trust God again.

And when you cast your pole into the water again, don't be surprised if God surprises you with what you reel in this time. An unexpected blessing. An unexpected turnaround. An unexpected restoration. An unexpected love. An unexpected healing. An unexpected answer to prayer. Perhaps even an unexpected phone call, an unexpected visit, or a relationship you thought was beyond repair beginning to move toward restoration.

I am not telling you exactly how God will answer your prayer or when it will happen. But I am reminding you that your disappointment does not mean God is finished. Peter's empty net was not the end of his story. And your empty net isn't the end of yours. You may have cast before and caught nothing. Cast again. You may have prayed and seen no change. Pray again. You may have believed and become weary. Believe for it again. You may have loved and been hurt. Love again. You may have decreed healing but the doctor’s report is the same. Decree again.

 The God who met Peter at the water is still the God who meets His people in their places of disappointment and I believe He is meeting those of you standing on the dock of disappointment today. He knows where the catch is. He knows what you cannot see. He knows what you have been praying for and when the answer comes, may you realize that the waiting was not the end of the story—it was the place where God was teaching you to trust Him with a catch that would exceed what we thought. “Now unto to Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us..”—Ephesians 3:20

And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.

Family, don't give up on what God is still able to do.
